Respite Care Program

Are you caring for someone with memory loss?  Let us tell you how we can help...


In weekly sessions from 9:00am to 2:00pm, participants are welcomed by a caring staff trained to understand the individual needs and abilities of your loved one.  Activities are planned with participant enjoyment in ind-and include relaxed opportunities to be with others and make new friends.  Music, exercise, games, reminiscing-even walks in the park nearby-are some of the many choices open to the one for whom you care.


Place:  First United Methodist Church Family Life Center

Time:  Tuesdays from 9am to 2pm (lunch is provided)

Cost:  $20 per day per participant.  Reduced cost participation is available to those who qualify

For the Participant

  • Socialization meeting new friends and participating in cooperative activities.
  • Safe Surroundings with a trained staff of professionals and volunteers in a home-style environment.

For the Caregivers

  • An opportunity to shop, take care of personal healthcare needs, or run other errands.
  • A day of rest from the full-time job of caring for a loved one with Alzheimer's or dementia.
  • A support group of other families affected by this condition.
