merry christmas

“Do not be afraid, for see, I am bringing you

good news of great joy for all the people.

To you is born this day in the city of David

a Savior, who is the Messiah, the Lord.”

- Luke 2:10–11

Dear friends,

Merry Christmas from our family to yours. As we celebrate the birth of Jesus, we are especially grateful to be sharing our very first Christmas with you here at First United Methodist Church of Sulphur Springs. From the day we arrived, you have welcomed us, encouraged us, and shown our family so much kindness. We truly feel at home here.

Over these first months together, we have seen the hope of Christ in the ways you care for one another, the peace of Christ in moments of prayer and worship, the joy of Christ in laughter and fellowship, and the love of Christ in your service to our community. It has been a gift to begin this journey of ministry with you.

Our prayer this Christmas is simple. May you experience the hope that steadies your heart, the peace that calms your spirit, the joy that runs deeper than circumstance, and the love that reminds you that God is with us now and always. May the light of Christ surround you and your loved ones this Christmas.

We are grateful for you, and we are thankful to celebrate this holy season together.

With love,
Chris, Amy, Sophie, and Lily Rickwartz
